automatically copy to clipboard with preview
Older version used to allow me to capture, preview and have it automatically copied to the clipboard without any extra clicks so I could just paste the capture into the application. Now I have two extra clicks and some mousing to do this. Can you please return the old functionality?

Hi icurme,
Could you please let us know what program you are referring to?
Thanks,

1Hello.
This customer contacted me in Support on Snagit. The issue is that if you leave the option to preview in editor on your profile, the output is not automatically applied - you have to go to send tab > finish profile to complete it. This was done to allow a customer a chance to make changes to the capture in editor before following through with the output, but I have seen similar requests for this functionality and thought I would clarify. -

I want to be able to do a whole bunch of captures where I paste from the clipboard into Word after each capture, but I also want the history of each my captures to still be kept in the captures tray. Snagit 10

Hello,
On the main Snagit interface, in the Profile Settings group, choose Word as the Share option.
Once you take you capture, it will automatically be put into Word at the point of the cursor.
In Editor, go to your Library. The capture will appear there as well.
I hope this helps!

This doesn't help me nor answers the original question. With "Share" I assume you mean "Output*", else please direct me towards where I can find this "Share" option.
I would like for SnagIt to place my screenshot in the editor and on my clipboard as soon as I make the screenshot. I simply forget (and can't understand why) that I have to click "Finish profile". In my eyes this is poor usability. You draw on the convention of the Print Screen button, which places a screenshot in the clipboard. This extra step breaks with this convention and confuses me as a user.
If I need to edit the screenshot, I can do this and then copy it again. It's logical that you have to copy the screenshot again after you've edited it.
I would like to disable the "Finish profile" step. How do I do this?
*) My version is SnagIt 10.0 (Build: 788) -

Still agree to this. 10.0 Build 788 has no way to have screenshots to clipboard and elsewhere. Yes, I have checked "multiple output" and "clipboard" and "preview in editor" under output. But it just does not work that way.

Thanks Kelly, I tried it. The screenshot ended in Word all right, but Library is not receiving the screenshot. I am using Snagit 10.0.0 Build 788.

I too, am, once again, asking for an option to output to both the clipboard AND the editor at the same time - but for a different reason, not just history, but because SOMETIMEs a capture needs to be edited, but not always.
Yes, I can create two profiles, but that really does not solve the problem, either.
The editor gives you annotation choices, among other things, however, NOT all captures need to be edited, YET, some do, BUT ...
> if you leave the editor OFF then you lose the opportunity when you need it.
> If you leave the editor ON, but do not need it, you cannot simply paste in the image without first going to the editor.
'cmon what gives? with all the features you have in there how can you possibly object to an "alway copy to clipboard" check box option? -

I think half your DEVELOPMENT STAFF has ROCKS FOR BRAINS. See my posts here:

Gosh, the guy up at top is right. I see it same way. I write manuals for people, and I grab alot of screenshots. Then, I browse through them in your SnagIt v8 (I believe) browser and rename the screenshots, put them into directories, and then work from that.
But, HOW IN THE WORLD -- can you do it now? The images don't appear in the directory. You can't even find the FREAKING PROPERTIES on that SnagIt Master Program (you need a name for that - CONFIGURATION MANAGER or something). Whatever, you have to go to the bottom, click to set the properties, but they don't tell the ScreenCapture tool where to go. I've checked them but nothing happens. Still doing the same with your Editor.
Man, someone in the Team should pay for some of these changes. You people don't realize how the purchasers of your software use your tool. I might just ask for my $104.95 back and stay with an earlier version. I am just unimpressed.
I love your products, but sometimes, IMPROVEMENT ins't always about chagning everything, just to change it. Microsoft often messes that up too. -

I found you had to go to Share under Profile, select both Clipboard and Multliple Destinations. Snag-It support: can you put this in the documentations? Thanks

i went back to the older version (v7) where you could automatically get the captured image into the clipboard, hit ctrl+enter and close it. too much damn clicking now

If you download the Snagit accessory for Word you can copy your screen shot to wherever the cursor is placed on your page. Hopefully this will work for you. You also have the option of copying to multiple locations.
Hope this helps -
