Background noise with ppt presentation

I am recording a powerpoint presentation using camtasia add-in and there is this squeaky sound as I speak. There is no environmental noise here and I think it is coming from inside the laptop. Any ideas on how to resolve this issue? My email address is msundaresa@cs.com.

    Have you tried a cat?

    Sorry, couldn't resist...

Assuming you are running up to date software...
It may be dirty fans inside a laptop, a loose USB connection, a lower quality mic, lower settings on the mic, or...

Try to make the problem move.

Try a different mic, a different lap top...
Try a PC in remote location with a mic in a different room.

See what mics local music stores have for rent.
Try before you buy is always a good idea.
TechSmith lets you try software before you buy...

On the PPT Add-Ins tab, click the Camtasia Studio : Camtasia Studio recording options Icon just to the left of the Blue? Icon.

A Camtasia Studio Add-In Options box will pop up, under Video and Audio, click Advanced... > Audio Set up Wizard > Audio Format, test different Format: & Attributes: settings, this may help.

After you have recorded, try the background noise removal tool on Camtasia Studio.
Another option is to record your voice with Audacity and import this into Camtasia Studio...

One or more of these tips should have you sounding better...

Thanks. I resolved the issue. It looks like Cantasia add-in doesn't automatically take the headphone that system has already detected. I had to go to "options" under add-in and select the headphone.

At least I found a way to get rid of the nasty squeaky noise.
