Camtasia Studio has these weird filled rounded rectangles for text callouts. I would like to be able to create standard actual real regular every day filled rectangle callouts, with no rounded edges. I use dozens of callouts per project & find the current filled rounded rect hideous.
A suggestion from tech support was custom callouts using graphics, with a second text callout as an overlay. This is impractical for me because I use so many callouts. Tracking 2 things instead of one that many times per project is a serious maintenance issue.

BTW does the Mac version have such callouts? If so I would gladly switch, assuming it can read Windows project files.

Here's download link for a .libzip (Camtasia Studio zipped library) containing the 2 callouts in the attachments tab beneath the screencast. If you download the .libzip file and double click on it, you should be prompted to import the callouts into your library (Camtasia Studio 7 or later).Comment -

You may want to check your Screencast.com settings.
The libzip files you noted are not visible beneath your screencast. -

Thanks John. I was logged into SC.com, and forgot that the owner view (which shows the attachment) can be different than the viewer's view (which did not show the attachment) if your SC.com folder template is configured as such. I've fixed the post above to use a direct link to the .libzip. That's what I get for trying to rush at the end of the day :)

Dro-you SO ROCK! I have never been happier to redo work. I have just completed a 15 video series. It was a ton of work shooting, editing, and writing the docs. I am now going to redo every single callout, and there are dozens, maybe hundreds--with nothing but gratitude! That is a massive help!

I just wanted to update this thread with some new information. We have just released Camtasia Studio 8, and this new release now includes a rectangle callout in the default set of callouts! It has the border and fill options as usual.
No more workarounds to get this shape!

Also, you can try the fully functional trial for 30 days without having to uninstall your previous version of Camtasia Studio.
