Does the PowerPoint add-in with Camtasia 8 work with PowerPoint 2010?

I own Camtasia 7 and was disappointed to learn the PowerPoint add-in doesn't work with PPT 2010. I was hoping this would be fixed in Camtasia 8, but that does not appear to be the case. Does Camtasia 8 remedy this?

I am using the Free Trial for Camtasia 8, but the only reason I would upgrade would be if it lets me record my PowerPoint files directly, otherwise 7 is fine.

If you have 64-bit Windows, you can install either the 32-bit version of PowerPoint, or the 64-bit version of PowerPoint.

If you have 32-bit Windows, you can only install the 32-bit version of PowerPoint.

The PowerPoint Add-in included with version 8.0.4 is a 32-bit DLL, which is compatible with 32-bit PowerPoint 2010. So if you have 32-bit PowerPoint 2010, you can use the Camtasia PowerPoint Add-in.

We do not currently offer a 64-bit version of the PowerPoint Add-in, and therefore the toolbar will not show up in 64-bit PowerPoint. As a workaround, you can use the stand-alone Recorder which is included with Camtasia Studio to record the screen as you would any other app. With this approach, markers are not automatically added at the slide transitions. However, these can be added manually in the Editor prior to producing your final video.

    Hope this helps.
