Don't capture the browser scrollbars

Great suggestion! I imagine others may want the same thing, so let's see who else chimes in.

Hello,
When I do a scrolling browser capture with the all-in-one option, I do not get the scroll bars.
Also, when I click inside a browser window using the non-scrolling all-in-one capture, (versus on the outside frame of the browser window) I don't get the scroll bars.
It's only when I click on the outside of the browser window with the all-in-one capture that I get scroll bars.
So, would you want to capture an entire browser window, including the headers and the outside frames, but have Snagit automatically delete the vertical / horizontal scroll bars for you?
Can you give us a bit more information about why you would want this feature?
And, if other readers are interested in this feature, just click the I LIKE THIS IDEA button to let us know.
Thanks,

The all in one profile captures the scroll bar when I click inside the browser window. It automatically selects the scroll bar for me. How do you manage to eliminate them Kelly? And what's a non-scrolling all in one profile?
It's easy to workaround this by just dragging the crosshairs where you want to but I can see where it could be considered more elegant to just capture the content of the browser window and nothing else. -

Hi Manny,
I have made a video showing three different types of captures using the default All-in-one capture profile. Two of them do NOT get scroll bars and one will capture the scroll bars.
Would you watch the video and see if your capture behavior differs from mine in some way?

I see how it behaves for you but that's not how it works for me and never has. The non-scrolling default profile always captures the scroll bars.
I agree with the scrolling behavior but it's not what I see otherwise.
Let me know your secret.
Here's how it works for me: http://screencast.com/t/jVzis8iN4rk -

Hello,
This appears to be a FireFox versus IE issue. When I capture in IE, I get the scroll bars. When I use FireFox, no scrollbars.
So.. I will check with the development team to see what they might have to say about this. I will report back with my findings.
Thanks for sending the video, Manny.

There you go another workaround for not capturing scroll bars - use FF.
Thanks Kelly. I'll be on the lookout for what they have to say. Probably something to do how the frames are designed. -

OK. So here is a bit more information on this topic. From the Snagit Dev team:
"In Firefox 3.5.x the scroll bars and content were actually separate windows. In version 3.6.x they combined the scroll bars with the content window. Kelly is using 3.5 and this is why she can select them separately."
So, the mystery is cleared up!
As a work around, choose Object as the capture input (Snagit > Profile Settings group box > Click the Input down arrow > Advanced > Object) and this will allow you to choose a portion of a web page that will not include the scroll bars.
Hope this helps!

I use Google Chrome as my default browser, and it behaves in the same manner as Internet Explorer (i.e. the scroll bars are captured).

As the title says: idea - have a new window type profile that can create a capture of everything -inside- a window, i.e. without toolbars, statusbar, sliderbar, etc.
(I know one can manually select the area)
