The workaround that John provided will be the best option to ensure you are receiving Jing updates in the future. We have narrowed down the problem to a beta build that was being handed out which contained an update configuration file which pointed to the incorrect update server.
So, as John mentioned, go ahead and reinstall the latest version of Jing from this location:
