Licence registration after installation

If I buy an upgrade from Techsmith, I imagine my details, licence code, etc are all recorded. Why is there a need therefore to have the 'register' screen pop up after installation? This should be suppressed if the user has bought from the Techsmith store.

    Hi Crispin,

    You're right, we do record the details of your purchase when you buy through the TechSmith store. The reason for the extra registration step is because the person purchasing the software is quite often not the person who is using the software.

    Registering the software is also used by our automatic lost key lookup page. And that tool isn't wired into the sales records.

    I agree that our current process isn't optimal, but we've been making some internal changes with how keys work, so hopefully this will change in the future.
