Add MTS format support to Camtasia:Mac!

We are not currently working on MTS support, but we are always listening... chime in if you need this, folks!
I think I will change this from a question to an idea, so people can add support for it; I hope that is OK with you, Alexandra.

Also, it may not help on Mac, but one of our Windows developers wrote something to help convert MTS files to something usable in Camtasia, here:

(so if you have Parallels, Bootcamp, or Fusion that might work for you)

Otherwise, for now, you'd have to search for another MTS to mp4 converter on Mac as a workaround.

Also, it may not help on Mac, but one of our Windows developers wrote something to help convert MTS files to something usable in Camtasia, here: http://feedback.techsmith.com/techsmith/topics/mts_files (so if you have Parallels, Bootcamp, or Fusion that might work for you) Otherwise, for now, you'd have to search for another MTS to mp4 converter on Mac as a workaround.

Thanks for posting it as an idea!
yep the PC work-around not working for me. And yes I am aware of having to pre fiddle with external converters and fancy settings b4 I can work on CamtasiaMac... painfully aware, I might ad .. *sigh*

Techsmith,
Get real. Every video editor, from free to professional, is able to import mts (AVCHD) video. I work at a State University and all we use are solid state video cameras. I read that users have been complaining about Studio for many years not be able to use mts files. Your program has been out-of-date since 2008.
Stop making lame excuses and tomorrow (or later today) start implement import of mts video.
Anything less is just pathetic.
