Also, it may not help on Mac, but one of our Windows developers wrote something to help convert MTS files to something usable in Camtasia, here:

(so if you have Parallels, Bootcamp, or Fusion that might work for you)
Otherwise, for now, you'd have to search for another MTS to mp4 converter on Mac as a workaround. -

yep the PC work-around not working for me. And yes I am aware of having to pre fiddle with external converters and fancy settings b4 I can work on CamtasiaMac... painfully aware, I might ad .. *sigh* -

Get real. Every video editor, from free to professional, is able to import mts (AVCHD) video. I work at a State University and all we use are solid state video cameras. I read that users have been complaining about Studio for many years not be able to use mts files. Your program has been out-of-date since 2008.
Stop making lame excuses and tomorrow (or later today) start implement import of mts video.
Anything less is just pathetic.-
