With the release of camtasia studio 8 and the smart player, what does "proper playback on any device" actually mean?
I see the format has moved to iframe, yet I personally still do not get an option for full screen viewing (on iPad or iPhone, etc) once I embed a video on my site
Also, the new format only applies to newly added videos correct? Previous uploads will not be switched over to the iframe format automatically?

Thank you for your feedback. The smart player on screencast.com (site or embedded) does not support a "full screen" mode on the iPad. This is something we are looking at adding in the future.
When video is viewed on the iPhone, the user is prompted to either view the video in the TechSmith Smart Player iPhone app or in the native Media Player app. When you view the video in the TechSmith Smart Player iPhone app, the video is always displayed at the full size of the screen.
Currently the Smart Player is only used by content produced from Camtasia Studio 8 and Camtasia Mac 2.2. We are looking at automatically rolling out the smart player for older content in the future. However we will not break current content already embedded on other websites.
Let us know if you have any further questions or concerns. -

Cool, just checking. I'm really looking forward to the full screen option for iPad similar to youtube/vimeo videos.

Just checking back in on this one, it's really weird that members can watch my videos full screen on android phones and on iphones/ipods but not the ipad. Is this something that is a long ways off or something that is actively being looked into at the present time?

You can upload the package of files that Camtasia Studio 8 produces to any server to take advantage of the smart player.
