Unable to Share Camtasia project

I have been unable to Produce and Share a Camtasia project using version 7.1.
The rendering is complete, but then the uploading stops before it is uploaded.
Furthermore, when I tried to use the support system, although I was properly logged into Screencast, I was routed to the parent - TechSmith, where my log in did not work.

  • Hello,
I'm sorry to see you are having trouble uploading your video.

There seems to be two issues at work here:

First, the login. At this time, there are separate accounts for Screencast.com and our technical support site. So, having a Screencast.com account doesn't automatically get you access to a support account. So, I apologize for any confusion there might be about this. In the future, if you need support, you will need to create an account on that site.

Second, sometimes internet traffic can interrupt your upload to Screencast.com.
Have you tried uploading again? Is it working now or is it consistently NOT working?

As a stop gap measure, you can upload your files directly to Screencast.com using the Upload option. So, in the future, if this occurs you can choose the video file from within SC.com and it will work just fine.

Please let us know if we can be of more help.
    Kelly

    Hi arcsajohn,

I'm curious if you're using Camtasia for Mac or Camtasia Studio on Windows? Also, when you say, "the uploading stops before it is uploaded," is there an error message of behavior of any kind that might help us find out what is the trouble?

Thanks for taking the time to let us know you're struggling. I'm sure our support staff will help you out once you are able to create your new account. Our apologies for the inconvenience.

    sad I’m not pleased
I have to second this issue. It is hit or miss whether the video uploads from Camtasia or incurs the error described above. It does give a message that the connection has been interrupted and the upload could not be completed. While I grant that Internet traffic can be a factor, this just isn't a good enough solution. I have tried uploading from several different locations and Internet connectivity (15mb cable modem up to a T1 line) and it's still just hit or miss. Great feature, but very frustrating when it fails. Seems like it might be something you might want to look into from your side. Perhaps it's a traffic problem for your servers.

    Thanks.

    sad I’m frustrated
I am having this problem. I have tried three times and it has failed during the uploading process with a vague error message. My internet connection seems fine. I also did not realise that the tech support was a different account from Screencast.
I had previously used the uploader when I had produced an earlier video in avi format. But what files do you upload just to put on Screencast?

    I am having similar trouble.
I have had this issue with camtasia 7 trial and now with camtasia 8
I can upload manually to screencast.
I can connect to screencast with camtasia 8 and select folder, etc. however the upload fails.
I am using window vista 64bit.

  • Hello,
I think this issue should be addressed by our excellent Technical Support team:
    http://bit.ly/tschelp

You will need to create an account first with our support system if you don't already have one. It's fast, and free!

You can expect someone from Technical Support to get back with you within one day - but maybe two depending on how busy they are.
