Why doesn't TOC appear when using Google Chrome?

Our company posted a video to an online classroom platform. This online classroom platform prefers using Google Chrome or Firefox as web browsers. When using either Google Chrome or Firefox, the table of contents does not appear. The video plays well and in full screen mode, but no table of contents.

When the video is first produced and viewed through Internet Explorer (by default), the table of contents is displayed, however, it will not allow me to view full screen.

    Margaret,

The browser should make no difference.

If you upload screenshots or make a screencast of what you are doing, this will help others, see what you see.

If you produce as an MP4 using Share on the Web with Link to HTML file, you can push the top left TOC push-pin to lock the TOC it in place during a presentation, and also use the lower right full-screen button to show the presentation in full screen.

It may be that not all the files needed were uploaded to the server...

You may want to review this TechSmith screencast to help you double check that all produced files were properly uploaded to your server via FTP

However, if your screencast with TOC was viewed via a video projector that has a 4:3 projection image, this tip below may help...

If the screencast with TOC was produced for a 16:9 size, and the video projector is of an older vintage which only projects a 4:3 image...It is possible when presenting your 16:9 screencast in full screen mode, having locked the TOC in place on the presenter's laptop's 16:9 screen - that what the audience sees is only a 4:3 image of what the projector is capable of projecting to the audience's screen.

The presenter's laptop at the podium displays the 16:9 TOC presentation just fine locked in full screen mode, however what the audience views is only a projected image in 4:3 size, and the audience cannot not see the TOC on their screen as the video projector only samples a 4:3 area of the presenter's 16:9 laptop screen.

The presenter can see the TOC on their laptop in full screen mode but the audience cannot see this TOC until the presenter un-clicks the lower right full screen mode on their laptop.

    Hope this helps

    Hello Margaret,

I'm happy to be able to update this thread with some good news!

We just released Camtasia Studio 8 and with it give you an even easier and better way to view your produced videos with the TechSmith Smart Player.

Along with updating the player for better customization and viewing options, we fixed several bugs along the production process. The new Flash player also has HTML5 fallback capabilities.

You can learn more about what's new in Camtasia Studio 8 here: http://www.techsmith.com/camtasia-wha...

I also wanted to mention that you can try the fully functional trial for 30 days without having to uninstall your previous version of Camtasia Studio.

Thanks again for sharing your feedback. We hope you will try Camtasia Studio 8, and let us know what you think about the new TechSmith Smart Player and production features or anything else you'd be willing to share!

    -Steven

I am having the same problems with Chrome and Firefox on Camtasia 7. If it doesn't work in 7, why not fix it instead of requiring us to buy the upgrade to 8?
