If Windows, open the Recycle Bin and see if its there.  You can digitally search by entering " *.camrec " in the search window, top-right.
No luck there? Open file manager, andsearch each physical drive you have, left click on the drive's icon, then search in the top right corner and again enter "*.camrec" and then the return/enter key.  Good luck.

I searched for it and can not find it. Will it be Windows 10 error?

If the file was definitely there, but it's gone now, and it's not in the Recycle Bin, there aren't many options. It's possible that it's due to a hard drive problem and the best way to test and fix that is to run a check on the drive.

On the Start menu, right-click on This Computer and select Properties at the bottom of the menu. Click on the Tools tab, then click on Check. Click on Scan Drive. You'll likely be prompted to reboot your computer so the scan can run. This will check and correct hard drive related issues. There's no guarantee that your file will reappear, but it may. If nothing else, you'll find out if you have any hard drive problems that indicate that it's time to replace the drive to avoid future data loss.

What did you search? Recycle Bin ? C:\  drive?  What version of Camtasia are you using?

If you've searched everything, how important is it to retrieve that file? There are pros in most metro areas that have very expensive s/w that can likely recover everything. At least your drive is still functioning, so it shouldn't be too bad - but ask for a quote first.

Is the computer you use to post, the same computer that is missing that file? If so copy and paste the next line into the search boxes:

.camrec       or

*.camrec

Thanks, I'll use the check. If it does not work at least I will prevent it from happening again

This has been a issue with Windows 10 and the fixes vary between users.
The first thing to try is to "Show hidden folders" and has worked for many people.

Windows Key + S and type File Explorer. Choose File Explorer Options

go to View tab. Locate Hidden files and folders option and select Show hidden files, folders, and drives.
Click Apply and OK to save changes.

After you’ve changed this option, try searching again.

I always do that on my computers from the get go so that wasn't a option for me.

For me...

I turned off Fast Startup and it fixed the problem of some missing files.

The fixes as I stated can vary depending on the system and the Windows updates that have been run.

There is to many steps to post here for the possible fixes that may work.

Check over to this resource to see the fixes that may work for you.

Anything is possible Ed but It won't be my first guess that hiding the extension from view would make a file go missing. It can't hurt to Uncheck it though. All that will do is show the .xxx after the file name.

The first thing I do shortly after installing a OS is to make changes in the View options and showing the file extensions always gets turned on. It's off by default.

Having to poke around in files you need to know whats what.
