Hi, we've been hearing about this from just a couple of users, and are trying to pin down the cause. Could you try a couple of things and let me know if this works?
First - are you on OSX 10.10? It seems to happen there more.
Second - close down other apps, especially intensive ones (maybe you have a lot of Chrome tabs open?)
Third - restart Camtasia, and see if it exports better.

Again, please let us know if this works as we try to determine causes!

same issue.  I am also on 10.10.5 - I had to use Camtasia 8 to render the video and get it to my client - no problems.  I also can't update my mac any further due to the age of the computer.

Exact same problem on a Macbook Pro Retina with 16GB RAM...problem started today and Camtasia 3.0.3 only renders to a blank screen no matter how I choose to "share" the video. Please advise!

Yes raffi- it sounds like your air is on Yosemite, which is OSX 10.10. The current version is 10.12; the OSX upgrades are free. I don't suppose you'd be willing to update to 10.11 or 10.12 to let us know if that resolves the problem?
As I mentioned earlier, we have not had any luck here reproducing the problem, even on 10.10, but that seems the most common in the field.

davidfthornton1 - are you on 10.10 as well?

I am using Apple's most recent update, 10.12.2. I found that I can not use any media files that are stored on my iCloud, they must ALL emanate from the hard drive or the video will render blank. However, I had no problem in the past as this is a new issue. Thanks!

I was able to get the videos to render correctly by ensuring that all of the media files used to create the video came from the actual hard drive and were not saved on any external or cloud devices such as iCloud Drive and Dropbox. My videos would not even render if I saved the Camtasia file to an external drive. Place all your media files on your hard drive and then upload them to Camtasia and make sure that you save your Camtasia file to the hard drive as well and that should work, at least it did for me.

Glad you made it work!

Just to note that files on network, cloud or USB connected devices aren't just a problem with Camtasia. There are many applications that will consistently either fail outright or exhibit strange behavior when trying to work in this manner.

I believe it all boils down to latency. (the lag time it takes to fetch files from devices)

Cheers... Rick :)

We released version 3.0.4 of Camtasia for Mac today and it fixes the issue where the rendered video would go black on 10.10 machines.  It is a free update.  3.0.4 also includes some other minor bug fixes.
