.snag files don't allow you to change "Edge Effects" after you have saved the Image and Rebooted SnagIt

If you apply an Edge effect to an Image. Then save the Image as a .snag file or .PNG. You cannot change the edge effect on the original .snag in the editor.

If you save the same Image as a .snag file. It won't allow you to edit the edge effect to the new .snag image either.

They remain editable up until you reboot SnagIt.  After that, the effect is permanently burned into the Image.

This applies to both SnagIt 11 and 12.
I ran into this problem while looking for a solution to this posted question.

I replied in the other thread about this but here's the important part:
This was the intended workflow for edge effects but I can see why it's causing you all problems. I tried it myself and was able to undo the edge effect even after a reboot which should always work. If that doesn't then we have a bug. Our edge effects apply on top of each other and once saved (or auto-saved) they are burnt-in (but they can still be undone). My advice for avoiding the burnt-in edge effect is to save that part for last. We have taken your feedback for this workflow
Let me know if I can do anything else to help
