The Problem
For callouts or media, having an edge effect like Snagit's "Torn Paper" could give additional variety and interest to assets

Or connecting to snagit to custom build a callout would be even better ;-)

We've updated the status of this idea to Not Planned.

Thanks for bringing this idea forward and to those that added their votes. Due to the number of higher priority items we’ll be addressing ahead of this idea, we are not planning to address the idea at this time. If it’s suggested in future roundups and priority rises, we’d reevaluate its priority.

I can't believe this. Snagit had this effect until you recently took it away and now you say "not planned"? And that's not the first feature that was either hidden or taken away compared to earlier versions. Snagit is just getting worse and worse. Are you planning a new, more expensive product that you are trying to make as switch to, or what is the åpolicy behind this?

Hi Chris

You do realize that this area of the forum is about Camtasia, not SnagIt, right?

SnagIt has not taken this effect away at all. You just have to know where it's found. Try clicking the Effects button in the lower right corner of SnagIt and the Edges should be found among the list of effects.

Cheers... Rick :)

Ooops.  No, I did not realize that. Thanks for letting me know where to find the effect in Snagit. I'm glad it hasn't been taken away completely (though for me the effect was the same: I had to do without it when I was preparing my presentation because I couldn't find it. I'm still wondering why TechSmith keeps messing up the interface. Surely it doesn't make life easier for their support either.
