what version of Camtasia?

I believe this can be caused by several factors, including using source media files located on network or cloud drives?

have you searched the tech support knowledge base?  I seem to recall previous threads where this was discussed

I had it happen to myself and in that instance the project [or was it a piece of media, can't remember for sure] had a file name that was too long; shortening the name fixed it

also, this thread was posted as an "idea"; perhaps re-post as a "problem"?

I am probably overstating the obvious, but does the file you are trying to open have a .tscproj or .camproj extension? Can you show a screenshot of the file explorer window  where the project file is stored?

Having same issue;
The file was saved/zipped to a network folder
I copied that Zip folder to my C: drive
I opened Camtasia 2018 and selected New Project
File>Import Media
I browse to the .tscproj location and the file cannot be found..
See images of my C: drive with the .tscproj file in the image on the left, and then the view when I'm inside Camtasia and browsing for the file on the right.

Thank you, I just tried that but the zip file isn't an extension recognized by the application. There are no files displaying when I browse to the file location. (image below)

Thank you for all your responses Kayakman! I just tried following the video and got
an error occurred while unpacking. (image below). I've asked the person who did the recording if they could convert the project to an MP4 or wav file and they were successful. Not sure why I still can't do it. So I guess this is resolved with out a resolution. Just wanted to thank you for all your help.

try this ...

right click on the .zip file, and choose "extract all"; that should put all the associated project files in the zip into a sub folder

does that work?

if it works, double click on the project file [.tscproj] to open it; Camtasia 2018 will launch if not already open

please advise what happens
