Snagit 2020 uses 100% CPU on macOS per Activity Monitor. It does this even when in the background. Any guesses how to make it stop burning up my lap?

Hmm, after it had been running that way for a couple weeks, it finally stopped when I:

1. Enabled permissions on a couple more sources (don't think this was it, but it might've been)
2. Clicked the annoying banner in the upper right that was telling me I had more items to review (for my "getting started" tour, I think). It seems that when the upper right area has pending items, the app stays in a loop where it uses CPU every millisecond.

One of those two fixes caused it to finally stop burning up my CPU/battery. Hope it helps someone else.

I'm glad to hear the problem is resolved. Definitely let us know if you see this again, I did some testing of the getting started banner and it only uses ~4% CPU, so something else must have been going on here.

@Bill - I had the same issue. I love SnagIt but was getting ready to uninstall it due to the CPU impact on my machine. I too just clicked the yellow banner to see if I can resolve it before going the uninstall route. Here's to hoping that fixed it...
