The use of the editor in 12.4.1 is very slow on Windows 7 Professional (with current updates).  The process of using the tools is too time consuming to be productive

Hello,

I run 12.4.1 here on WIN 7 Ultimate and WIN 8.1 without issue. How much memory do you have and which specific processes seem slow?

8 GB ram in the box and using the editor, highlighting buttons, moving buttons around... general usage is quite delayed.

Machine is in use by UI/UX developer snag it is heavily used, but it seems slower than I would think for even 8 gb ram.

That seems like plenty, maybe resources are tied up and SnagIt is getting lower priority?

The snagit editor process was elevate to "above average" using process explorer this morning, but it didnt seem to do much... will see if bouncing the application gets the priority corrected

I just upgraded to 12.4.1 on my Windows 10 Enterprise PC at work and am experiencing a lot of lag in the editor now.  8gb of ram.  Just pressing 'printscreen' takes about 8-10 secs to come up with the selection window.  Once the editor is open it does not exhibit any delay.

I actually just disabled the Capture window and only have the notification icon now and it opens much faster.  Go to preferences and where it says Capture window and Notification Area Icon, select Enable Notification Area Icon only.  See if that helps you.

The delay is back for me now.  It worked fine yesterday after making that change but today it's slow again.

Any chance TechSmith might have anything on this?

Am User of SnagIt since version 8,  SnagIt always was my favorite. But now on version 12 I am not sure anymore if I get recorded video saved. Save procedure is veeery slow. From time to time Save freezes and I have to kill the process. I use Win 10 now, my PC's techs are up to date. Today I have lost recording of the very important webinar. Next issue is that If I start recording in full screen mode snagit records selectively - not everything appears on the screen, e.g. If I switch window from one application to the other, or I go to menu and try to change options of the program, snagit doesn't record everything what appeared on the screen. Third issue is lagging of the sound and video recorded. I am not sure if this is marketing issue forcing users to upgrade.
