The title says it all.

If you have lots of quick styles defined in 13.0 it looks like you are gonna have to redefine them in 13.1 - unless the Product Team can show us how to get them back?

I wonder if there is something I can do *before* I apply the upgrade to my other computer, to preserve my defined Quick Styles?

Losing "Quick Styles" is something that has been happening to me for the past few versions of SnagIT - to the point that what I've taken to doing is keeping a SnagIT file with the common call-outs, text, arrows and shapes we use daily so WHEN (not "IF") all the quick styles go away (which they do unexpectedly and for no reason) - we can re-create in a few minutes from the things stored in that file. See my post on "Fixing Bugs B4 new features" - this is exactly what I'm talking about. I gave up discussing with tech support - been happening since version 10 or so.

I just tried to add some of my quick effects, but pressing the "Add to Quick Effects" button appears to do nothing. Is there a special trick to using it?

I think you'll find they get added to the standard 'Effects' drop down,  That's what seems to have happened to mine.  If I'm right that's actually quite cool.

It's a shame that there's no information available about this.  I asked for a list of 13.1 features but the reply from TechSmith was essentially 'Here is the only features list we keep and it doesn't include anything other than the major features'

I'd screenshot my SnagIt editor screen to show you what I see but I haven't figured out a way to use SnagIt to capture a SnagIt screen !!!

Windows snipping tool doesn't cut it (the SnagIt drop down closes).  Darn......

This is an image of Snagit 12.
The setting you need to change is the same for other versions if yo want to capture the editor with SnagIt .

I use IrfanView to capture a screen shot of SnagIt. I copy it to the clipboard in IrfanView, then use "New from Clipboard" in the SnagIt Editor to modify.

But see previous comment from Joe.  You CAN do it in SnagIt

It's easier to use IrfanView to grab the shot, instead of changing SnagIt's setting and then having to remember to change it back. 99.999% of the time, I prefer that SnagIt get out of the way when I'm getting a screen shot.

I just upgraded to 13.1 and thought I lost all my saved quick styles as well.  In past upgrades, I really did lose them, but this time, they were just hidden from me...  This is how I found my text and border presets...

Ken3 saved me from having to create a support ticket. Thanks Ken3! Snagit should put this solution in their most frequently asked questions and answers section.

THANKS!  That was most useful!  I didn't need to change my theme, just the fact that your screen shot showed the dragging down of the field helped.  (Although I do feel a little stupid for not trying that in the first place.)

You see, this is why TechSmith need to issue more detailed release notes.  How much time has the whole user base wasted on crap like this.  TechSmith you need to TELL us this stuff please.
