14 million copies of Windows 10 out in 24 hours. Is Camtasia 8.5 fully compatible?

Is Camtasia 8 fully compatible with Windows 10? There has been an old TechSmith link that supposedly deals with this question, but it is nearly a year old, and as today hasn't  been updated in 3 months.

For example, in all this time has this issue been fixed?
  • Producing to .wmv can result in visual artifacts in the produced file.
Also, have Snagit issues been cleared?

Thank you.

I'm thinking 14 million people are Microsoft Ginny Pigs this early in the game.

New operating systems are bound to create some problems. Unless you just purchased  a new computer and you're stuck with Windows 10.
I'd be patient, stick with the operating system you have. let someone else work through the bugs.

Regards, Joe

Thanks Joe. I'm sure what you say about Windows 10 is true. But my question was not about when to upgrade to it.

My question was about Camtasia 8 compatibility with Windows 10 in view of the months-old information supplied by TechSmith.

I'd like to hear from people who have installed Windows 10 and know whether current or previous versions of Camtasia work fully on it, or what the problems are if they have them.

Ive been using Camtasia, and it has been working just fine on it. I haven't used every single feature though, but I generally use most of it, and it's been working fine.

I've been using 8.5.2 under Windows 10 to produce gifs.  Editing and results are fine.  No crashes so far.

Good reports. Thank you. Anybody a heavy-duty user that has used a wide range of features?

How about the wmv issue TechSmith identifies? Does it mess up camera recording for pip?

Any other issues with controlling the camera like zoom and pan?

Good renders?

Anything make Camtasia 8.5 crash  under Windows 10?

Based on my current experience very little is fully functional with Windows 10 especially Thinkpad which is junk.
