I don't think I crashed once with 9 and now with 18 during my first video edit I have crashed 6 times. Now when I reopen to edit/click play it stalls then immediately shuts down. This version does not appear ready for prime time.
I have added a print screen of an error message which hopefully may help. How do I end my free trial? I do not want to re-record on this version as I am concerned that it will not produce.
Follow Up: When I tried to edit in MP4 mode I was notified that it would be watermarked unless I pay. This is some sneaky stuff. I am sure it is in the terms that everyone ignores but shame on me if I buy. I need to know how I get back to the previous version today please. This product is not ready for release. This was not a free trial it was an ambush
Follow up to Follow Up: It crashed when rendering to MP4 so I guess I just lost a day. My free trial just cost me money. Thanks so very much.

However, our offices are closed today due to extremely bad weather in our city so you would not hear back until tomorrow.
For now, a thing to try is:
-Launch Camtasia
-Go to Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced
-in the dropdown in the middle of that menu, change "Use graphics card..." to "Use software-only mode."
My suspicion is that something is going wrong in the interaction between Camtasia and your graphics card. If so, this will resolve that problem (though it will not be as performant).
If that *does* solve the problem, updating or reinstalling your video card's latest drivers may also help if you want to switch back to using hardware acceleration.
If none of that works, please do contact https://support.techsmith.com/hc/en-us and someone will be in contact as soon as our campus is back up and running.
Thanks,
