Hi,

So sorry about this! It's fixed in our 2018.2.3 update. Let us know if you're not able to update to that version.

This is happening to me too. How do you get the 2018.2.3 update? I'm on version 3.3.7. It tells me that's the latest update.

Hi,

Sorry about that, there should have been some sort of notification about this. You can download the latest version (which is actually 2019.0.1) from our website here https://www.techsmith.com/download/snagit/. Note that this is a paid upgrade, however anyone who has purchased Snagit before can upgrade for 50% off.

I just upgraded to 2019 and I'm still crashing with Mojave 10.14. I uninstalled 2018 b/c it was crashing. Thought the upgrade would fix it. I really need to use this tool for a project I'm working on.

I'm having the same problem, using SnagIt 2019.1.0, with macOS Mojave 10.14.2.

I'm in the same situation as mmurphy613.  SnagIt 2018 was crashing, so I got and installed SnagIt 2019, and am having the same problem.  Crashes almost every time I try to use it.  Crashes on Image Capture and All In One.  I get to the point where I can select a region of the screen, and then it crashes.

I'm having the same issues with Snagit 4.1.10 running on Mojave, where capture is either taking MINUTES to respond or it just crashes. When I try to update it to get around this crippling issue you all want me to pay $24.95. Which I'm not going to do as shouldn't the software I paid for just work, given that your website states that any version from 3.1.6 should work with Mojave?

Hi,

It looks like the 3.1.6 is for Camtasia according to https://support.techsmith.com/hc/en-us/articles/219910027-Mac-OS-X-Support-Matrix. Note that this is full, active support. 4.1.10 should still work in most cases, so let us know if my post below resolves the freezing issue.

Crashes for me, too: Mojave 10.4.2, SnagIt 2019.1.0 (94020). I want to make a screenshot and select a region. As soon as I let go of the mouse button, the cursor turns into a beachball, and the entire Mac is frozen. I still see the rubber band around the region, and the rest of the screens is still "blackened out". No key works anymore (such as Esc or shortcut for force-closing).

Happened to me twice within the last two hours. Switching to built-in screenshot tool until further notice.

Hi,

Can you check if your browsers are enabled in macOS's security preferences? See my post below for more detail.

I did that yesterday and have had a few successful captures so that may be it.

Hi folks,

If you're seeing this freezing on Mojave, open up System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Automation and make sure Chrome and Safari are checked under you respective version of Snagit and SnagitHelper. We're still looking into how those items are getting unchecked, but this has fixed it for some other users.

It does not resolve the problem. In my case Snagit does not even appear in Automation window.

What I am experiencing with Snagit 2.3.0 (77145) is that the images after capture are all blurry.  It is crashing when I try to save a file (as soon as I try to select the dropdown of the file format). It crashes, upon reopening the app the last capture image quality will be degraded.  I'm on Mojave 10.14.2

PLEASE FIX!!!

Hi,

Unfortunately Snagit 2 is no longer supported. Here is a list of what versions are supported for each operating system https://support.techsmith.com/hc/en-us/articles/219910027-Mac-OS-X-Support-Matrix.

I checked this and those are already checked on my Mac. Any other ideas? This is driving me nuts.

Hi,

So are you seeing freezing or actual crashing? When are you seeing it, image capture, video capture, editing, elsewhere?

It's freezing when I try to do an image capture. I click the big red 'capture' button and it can take up to a couple of minutes before it actually dims the screen and allows the capture to happen. I can continue using my Mac during this freeze. This is frequent but not always the case. Some times, like this morning, it works right away. Editing works fine and I never use the video capture feature so I can't comment on if that's working or not.

Interesting, that's different from the Mojave permissions freeze. Can you open up a ticket with our Tech Support so they can look into what's going on here?
