Sorry about that, there should have been some sort of notification about this. You can download the latest version (which is actually 2019.0.1) from our website here https://www.techsmith.com/download/snagit/. Note that this is a paid upgrade, however anyone who has purchased Snagit before can upgrade for 50% off.

I'm in the same situation as mmurphy613. SnagIt 2018 was crashing, so I got and installed SnagIt 2019, and am having the same problem. Crashes almost every time I try to use it. Crashes on Image Capture and All In One. I get to the point where I can select a region of the screen, and then it crashes.

It looks like the 3.1.6 is for Camtasia according to https://support.techsmith.com/hc/en-us/articles/219910027-Mac-OS-X-Support-Matrix. Note that this is full, active support. 4.1.10 should still work in most cases, so let us know if my post below resolves the freezing issue.

Happened to me twice within the last two hours. Switching to built-in screenshot tool until further notice.

Can you check if your browsers are enabled in macOS's security preferences? See my post below for more detail.

If you're seeing this freezing on Mojave, open up System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Automation and make sure Chrome and Safari are checked under you respective version of Snagit and SnagitHelper. We're still looking into how those items are getting unchecked, but this has fixed it for some other users.

What I am experiencing with Snagit 2.3.0 (77145) is that the images after capture are all blurry. It is crashing when I try to save a file (as soon as I try to select the dropdown of the file format). It crashes, upon reopening the app the last capture image quality will be degraded. I'm on Mojave 10.14.2
PLEASE FIX!!!

Unfortunately Snagit 2 is no longer supported. Here is a list of what versions are supported for each operating system https://support.techsmith.com/hc/en-us/articles/219910027-Mac-OS-X-Support-Matrix.

So are you seeing freezing or actual crashing? When are you seeing it, image capture, video capture, editing, elsewhere?

A workaround for me is that once I start the capture and the screen hangs, I hit the Esc button and the spinner stops spinning. But it's still annoying.
