I am a reenactor and a Public School teacher , and am attempting to plan an activity where I conduct live "classroom" sessions from the 150th Gettysburg Reenactment next July. I would like to use my ipad to moderate these sharing sessions, but would like to record the sessions for use in instruction later. Would TechSmith Fuse® allow me to record these Facetime run sessions? I have used Camtasia 8 extensively and really like the product and options it gives me.

We're sorry, but Fuse would not allow you to do this. iOS apps are sandboxed or in other words, you can't really run one application in the foreground while another is running. There is some background processing, but it's limited to things like notifications and alerts.

What is however possible is you could mirror the iOS experience to your desktop using something like Reflection ( and then use Camtasia Studio 8 to record it. I know it's not ideal, but until Apple loosens its restrictions for app developers, it's the option available to us.

I hope this helps.
