9.0.5 PAID upgrade?

Two things:
1. What's new? The link to learn about it doesn't say anything about what's new
2. Why is the paid upgrade when 9.0 was substandard?

Hi there

What are you seeing that seems to suggest you have to pay?

Unless I'm mistaken, you would only need to pay if a version 10 appeared. Point versions are (or at least have been) free updates.

Cheers... Rick :)

Ya what Rick said.

9.0.5 is a version 9 update not a upgrade

Whats in the update is here
https://support.techsmith.com/hc/en-us/articles/115006443267

You can get the update (free at least for now) from within Camtasia Studio under
Help>>>Check for updates.

:)

If you click Help > About, what version is being reported?

My guess is that you are going to find it is version 8. something. Also, version 9 is just called "Camtasia" and not "Camtasia Studio" any longer. ;)

Looking at your screenshot, I'm guesing you are using Camtasia 8.xx
Sorry thought you was on version 9 already.

So yes if you are using version 8 than Camtasia 9.xx is a upgrade (paid)

I like version 9  but, you may want to consider leaving version 8 installed even if you upgrade to 9.
You can have them both installed on your machine but can only run one or the other at a time.

Many have done this because although 9 is cool and has some neat features, it can not do somethings version 8 can do at all or 8 can do better.
