Rik there are different options for purchasing Camtasia Studio 8.

To answer your First Question:

They have the Education Pricing if you are a Teacher/Instructor etc. and the have a Government/Non-Profit Pricing and also a Volume Pricing available so you would have to pick which option is best fit for you if it is applicable. If those options do not work for you or you do not meet those requirements then the only option would be to pay the full price unless they run a special on the software which I have not seen for awhile.

If you visit the TechSmith Main Website

And scroll to the bottom of the page you will see the Store link and it will also show the purchase options I referred to above.

As far as your Second Question "Is it worth it ?":

Yes in my opinion pending on what your plans for using the software are going to be it is very much worth the price as I could not ask for a better software to use for what I do with it. Although there is always room for improvements as it is that way with any software in my personal opinion. You will always find things or requests you would like to have or not have in the software.

Hope this helps to answer your questions Rik and you find the information helpful. If you have any other questions feel fre to post them here and thanks for posting. Have a great day/night.
