A Flash of Red

Hi All. . .

So I'm making an instructional video for an iOS app we have.  All is going well.  However, I would LOVE to have a little red, circular "burst" of color to indicate when and where a button is tapped.  No moving cursor in iOS.  :-)

I did a little google search for "red button GIF" (and other variations) but didn't see anything that really fit.

Anyone have any places they could point me to?

You may want to try creating it in PowerPoint and saving as a .png.

YES.  Very close.  I think the opposite motion would likely be a better indicator of a "Tap" but yes.  How to?

Thanks!

first, view again; better example, transparent background

very easy to do

in a new, empty project, set Recorder to just capture the canvas area; use default black canvas color

with Recorder capturing, click mouse in center of canvas

save capture

in new project, import the capture, put on timeline

add cursor effects, left click rings

in properties panel on right, set desired size, etc; set cursor to 0% opacity

add remove a color to clip on timeline; remove black [use the eyedropper]

add a different canvas background color so you can see the rings are transparent

add the clip to Library to use as needed

produce to see what you'll get

You can find downloadable touchgestures here. https://www.mediafire.com/?90vepp9drvkwukn

There's red ones, they all have transparency.
Just select the frames you want.Size to taste, chose an opacity if desired.Save to the library.
Or make your own.

I created these touch gestures because there are none for Camtasia for windows users a year or so ago.
There in the png transparent codec so it works in newer versions of Camtasia.

regardless of which method you use, here is an example of a Library asset I once made where the finger click is combined with hand action ...
