A nice feature to add would be the ability to set up a scheduled recording. This would help with multitasking where you are away from your computer.

I agree ,this feature has been request for over 7 years.

Undeterred, I'm vote for the feature once again.

In the meantime,
There is a workaround.................https://support.techsmith.com/hc/en-us/articles/203728768-Camtasia-Windows-Schedule-a-recording-to-a...

I used .bat files a lot, many years ago.  Thanks for the info, Joe.
I'm sure TechSmith could incorporate the timed recording feature
easily if they would just do it.

I  whole heart idly  agree.
To be a able to set a date and time would be awesome.
At the least I would like a timer to set when the recording ends.  ( in minutes, half-hours, hours, etc )
It could even leave the save-as box open so when I get back to the computer
I could name and save the recording.

I agree. This feature, as well as the one mentioned by Bob Lewis, are both really desirable, basic features and it's surprising they're not included in the recorder.

Why the answer to half of this problem is to have users go through a 24-step process (as the link Joe provided suggests) is beyond me.

Neither Camtasia nor the Recorder can be started in a BAT file, whose execution could be added to the scheduler.
Next try is to start the recorder and after 3,2,1, Pause the recordering.  Now its just a matter of training the dog to jar the pause key. . .

That workaround is fine for Windows users - albeit with some hassle - but what about Mac users? TechSmith need to add this feature to both versions.
