I have recently started using Camtasia for editing screencasts on behalf of a colleague, then I noticed there isn't a feature that allows you to add guide lines on the display, which means I have to manually align things.

Although the software itself automatically snaps center & edge points, it does not help, for example, if I want to align a list of text items based on a quotation mark in between the lines, I would have to manually approximate their alignment. in this case, a guideline tool would really help.

Kayakman created this downloadable image that you can use. You can adjust it's size to taste.
http://www.cookbookplus.com/Download/GreenGridOverlay.zip  It works pretty good just select remove a color to get the grid to show through. Adjusting the parameters in remove a color allows for adjustment to it's appearance. It works pretty good as a workaround.
