Can you elaborate on what you're after? Odds are there "May" be a way to already accomplish what you're requesting.
No guarantees, but specifics would be very helpful here.

I suspect OP wants a variation on what I've asked for previously - the ability to apply radiused corners to the canvas.  Extend each corner's radius till they meet in the middle, and you get a circle. :)  It's all about the degree of radius

Hi Doug,

We used to offer a Circle shape capture but it wasn't used by many people so it was removed. Perhaps version 9.0 was the last time we had that. I don't know if it was available with the fixed region option, either. But, you could most definitely drag the cursor to capture your area.

If this is something you use all the time, perhaps it would be worth it to install that version and see if this works for you?

Also, in the meantime, you can capture your area and then use the circle selection tool in the Editor to make your circle shape. This is less convenient but it gives you the shape you need. You can make the circle selection, right-click it, and save the selection you made.

Thanks for using Snagit.
