ABSOLUTELY HOPELESS - GETTING WORSE AND WORSE UNBELIEVABLE

Definitely not praise, but huge criticism. Can't log in etc etc.

The problem is that clicking on Snagit capture from the menu bar works erratically. Doesn't often/always start. If I reboot it might.

Am trying to capture some terrible Facebook entries, and need to control where Snagit should start and end.
Created a setting based on scrollable windows. not working properly. Can't determine where it starts, options given are inadequate - either active window or top left. If I click that it starts but can't be stopped, tried using escp key, but nothing visible.afterwards or after reboot.

What I think I need is a scrolling region where I can mark the starting point and the end poist. As it covers several pages.. It seems you cannot mark starting and then scroll down a couple of pages to the end point.

How can this be done??

Try "Panoramic Scrolling Capture"

Thanks, Paul will try this.
Quite often I have to reboot to get Snagit to work.
Or from the start menu bar I can choose Open SnagitEditor-, and that works, but cant from the editor window get the capture working by clicking on the Capture button.

Now I have to reboot and hopefully can get into my TechSmith Account, where it seems they have changed the system yet again. Sorry to be so critical, but at one time SnagIt represented all that was good in software.

Panoramic scrolling capture does not scroll windows. Still no solution, really bad!

How did you do it Paul?

What you do is choose to capture, draw the area, choose Panoramic. Then you click the start button and you scroll the window manually.  Once finished scrolling, you command the capture to stop.

Joe and Rick thanks to both of you. Panorama did the trick, for safety's sake loaded the 2019 version. Would you think its worth upgrading from 2017/2018?
Joe very special thanks.
Joe you are a genius. The beers are yours, but you'll have to come to Sweden, much stronger here. I don't know what you do, but I do wish you could become head of tech support at TechSmith, this would make a huge difference.

Thank you very much Joe, you certainly get my vote. When are you coming to Sweden to savour a few of our very strong beers. I cant drink more than two.

Maybe I should do a new posting because I find the panoram absolutely wonderful, at least in the 2019 version, which I will probably upgrade to.
I still have my older versions, and the only problem I face is that they rather than Snagit 2019 start. Maybe I should uninstall the other versions.

The reason Panorama is so good was for capturing abusive comments on Facebook which I am going to use as basis for trying to get someone banned from Facebook.
Do you happen to be on Facebook, actually a waste of time in principle. I am only using FB to build up connections which I want to steer to my own site where I am taking up a whole range of 9issues that concern me, political and business, as well as excellence and philosophy.

Joe just watched the fir4st tutorial "Simplify", looks wonderful and another reason for upgrading.

Important question
Can Panoram and Simplify be combined?
Would you capture via Panorama and then use Simplify to highlight the important parts with comments etc?. In my current work process I save to PDF, but maybe that should be changed. Would value your input.

We could double the beers! It would be good if humble users like myself get great inspiration from people like you - I know very scarce - could show our appreciation in some way. Perhaps you could think about this, and any proposal from you would have my support. Unfortunately no useful voting mechanisms on TechSmith.

Very best again

Yes, capture with  panoramic, then simplify.  Saving to PDF has its benefits, such as better handling of content that spans the printed page length but the downsides are you can't preview it nor paste the image directly into Facebook

Thanks Paul very much! I think I have identified with yours and Joe's help something that no other tool in this world could achieve. Perhaps you could let TechSmith know about this? I can almost forgive TechSmith anything NOW.
Don't need to paste into FB, it's purely a capturing process which I will be using very substantially. The main reason is that  I am not - to put it mildly - an ardent supporter of FB. Can you believe that? Are you an ardent supporter?? (You dont need to answer that question. But I do think it would be good to consider how people like myself who have received such great support could show their appreciation in some way. Surely you have some ideas there????

To let TechSmith now that you are now a fan again, start a new thread and choose the PRAISE option.  Forget FaceBook.  I only use it for various technical groups I belong to
