Accessibility Statement for Jing

Hello-

We recently submitted a ticket to Tech Support who suggested us posting this idea here.  We found accessibility statements for most of your other products easily online, but not Jing.

We were uncertain if one could be developed quickly or if there were roadblocks we were unaware of.  We are about to launch a faculty initiative for using Camtasia and Jing, but being a state funded institution feel better suggesting software which we already now has taken steps to met the guidelines of Section 508.  Please advise.

Hi Bethany, thanks for posting here! An accessibility statement does take quite a bit of time and resources to create. Is anyone at your organization working with a member or our Sales team to help get you set up with this initiative? If so I'd be happy to talk with your and your Sales reps about our options here. You can contact me directly at c.wright@techsmith.com.

Hi Casey-

Yes it may take TechSmith some time to create - but I would imagine the statements already produced for other projects may lessen the time involved (They would provide a great starter template.)

We do not have a sales rep - we have done ordering through third party vendors at this point.  I will admit we have ample licenses to launch our initiative - but will be held off until the VPAT is available.  Were you offering to assist the TechSmith Team in developing that?  If so we would appreciate it.

Thanks-
Bethany

Hi Bethany. Sorry I didn't clarify this, but I do work for TechSmith. I just wanted to let you know I'm not ignoring your request, I'm just getting information from some people around here and I'll get back to you asap. I'll email you directly when I know more.

Casey - I just posted a similar request for an accessibility statement for Jing.  I was able to find a general statement with links to more specific statements for some of the products at https://www.techsmith.com/accessibility.html but not for Jing.  As Bethany stated, it should be fairly easy to create a statement using one of the other specific statements as a template.  Please do what you can to make this happen soon as it is necessary to include accessibility statements for all products, software, etc. used by our students.  Thank you.
