Active icon color change

The tool bar icons should change from to gray to green when active. Currently the change is from gray to light blue. The light blue is hard to distinguish from the gray. This would make it easier to distinguish which icon is active and would allow my old eyes to better determine which icon is being used.

I agree that the tool bar icons should get darker when active. Green is not a good user interface choice, however, because one needs to account for the fact that a portion of users suffer from color blindness. I am in my mid-70's, wear bifocals  and I have zero problem with the light blue. While blue is nice eye candy, a very dark gray or black would be a better choice.

What ever the color change it should be a drastic change from one to another color. And color blindness is variable for instance by brother is color blind and two of the colors on Stoplights appear as gray Luckily Because of the placement of one of the colors (yellow) is in the middle he can Drive safely.

In reality, instead of changing the icon color, An arrow pointing to the active icon would work well. Being fully color blind would not matter if the arrow were to be created. A short and fat arrow would work nicely..

That reminds me that I have encountered several apps over the years where the an icon "grew" a little bit when active. I have no idea how that was done but it eliminates any concerns about color.

Hi and thanks for submitting your idea!

As outlined in our New Community Processes post, feature requests are open to voting up through the 1st of the month (this month is slightly different, due to the holidays) where we will then tally the votes and present the findings to our product teams. To ensure we have the most accurate data, on the 1st of the month we will be locking the threads that were listed in the Feature Request Round-up that was posted on the 15th. Once we have reviewed the submitted feature requests, our product team(s) may respond to the request, and if that is the case then that thread will then be unlocked for further discussion.

In the event that your idea is not selected for a response feel free to resubmit the idea and share it with your colleagues to garner as much exposure as possible!

Thank you again for your idea and we look forward to hearing more from you!
