Add resized stamps as a new style within SnagIt v13

When using numbered stamps, they are often way too big. So I have to resize them one by one.
Is it possible to save those resized stamps as a new style, so the next time I will be having the smaller stamps.

And the number and position to be vertical or can be change.
Stay all the time, horizontally...
if you rotate.

Even more: I would appreciate having the definition of the text direction separately from rotation of the stamp picture.

Hi Mike62 - thanks for your suggestion. Have you tried out the Step Tool as an alternative to stamps? It gives you a bit more flexibility over the style and color. When you create a quick style for Step Tool, the size of the object does not get stored as one of its properties (though that's an idea we should consider)...BUT when you apply the first step object to your capture and resize it as needed, the subsequent steps applied to that capture will be the same size.

Dany_jim and ts - please add your upvotes to this request for enhanced rotation of Step Tool objects.

Hi Daniel,

I can't see a difference between STAMP and STEP. In my version the toolbar looks like this:

Which is what, please? I only see one choice to stamp/step my pictures.

@daniel
Sorry for the late reply.
Many thanks for the hint with regards to the step tool. This is very handy indeed!
I have to confess . . . I am still in v11.3 and the title of the thread is somewhat misleading.
I know, basically it is impossible within v11.x but I was wondering whether it would be possible in v13 reason why I mentioned v13 there.

A workaround to get smaller stamps, for example and in my case, red numbers in v11.3 may be the following:

SnagIt v11.3

01 Open SnagItEditor
02 Select: File->Convert Images
03 In Selecting Files: click 'Add Files'
04 Go to and select folder 'Red Numbers'
05 Select all files and click on 'Open'
06 Back in Selecting Files: click 'Next'
07 In Conversion Files (Step 2 of 4): select 'Modify'
08 Select Image Scaling->Resize Image
09 In the Resize Image window: select Scale by percentage (selected by default)
10 Set percentage, for instance to 20/20 (Width/Height)
11 Click on 'OK'
12 Back in the Conversion Files (Step 2 of 4): click on 'Next'
13 In the Output Options (step 3 of 4), output directory select (or create) a folder (e.g. MyStamps)
14 In the Browse for folder window, click 'OK'
15 Back in the the Output Options (step 3 of 4): click on 'Next'
14 In the Batch Conversion Wizard Ready (Step 4 of 4): click on 'Finish'
15 In SnagItEditor -> Stamps select the newly created folder (e.g. MyStamps)

Below original vs 20%

Probably this will go roughly the same way in v13.
Obviously I am not sure whether the step tool will work on such, say, 'Custom'-stamps.

I think I should consider buying v13. Actually, it is the interface that is holding me back to be honest.
I roughly know my way around in v11 (with File-Draw-Image, etc interface) and a number of items in the Quick Access Toolbar (pretty much like Office)  but in v13 ..?  I don't know.

Anyway, that's a different discussion  :-)

Thanks for your comments.

The step tool was added to SnagIt 11 through the 11.4 update.You can download it from this webpage. The final update to SnagIt 11 is Version 11.4.3. So you are way behind on updates running version 11.3.

I uploaded the wrong image showing SnagIt 11 with the step tool in my last post.
Here is the correct one.

Ah, right!

Thanks.
It has indeed been added to 11.4 - reason why I am missing it in v11.3

Anyway, thanks again.

Interesting topic here. I found it by doing a search, and am glad to find this information.

Reason for posting is that I am new to SnagIt, and want to use the Step icons, but they are extremely small. Approximately the size of a pinprick. How do I change the size? I’ve spent hours trying to find the solution, and finally just gave up.

Thanks.
