Hi guys,
Just thought of this idea. Recently I have had some trouble using the region snip mode when colours on my screen are similar. I often have to manually snip the area I want instead of it automatically snapping to the desired area.
Especially when using programs such as photoshop, where most regions are a dark grey, I think being able to change the tolerance would be so useful.
What do you guys think?
Kind regards,
H.

To be honest, I hardly find region auto-snap useful at all.
As I understand it, it doesn't work on colour differentiation but on modal windows. I wish that it did use colour differentiation because 99% of my screenshots are from web pages that don't use modal boxes but do use colour to delineate different areas.
I think that as more and more apps move to the cloud, region auto-snap needs a complete rework to bring it up to date.

So what do you use then? Do you just snip manually or is there a better tool?

For me, I get the crosshairs close to what I want, then use the arrow keys to nudge the crosshairs to the exact spot, then press the Spacebar to set the original starting point. Then I drag the mouse until the crosshairs are near the opposite edge. Again, I use the arrow keys to refine the selection and press the Enter key once I have it set.

I get it roughly right, erring on the oversize and trim in the editor, using the grab handles to bring each side in.

Hi, I would also like a tolerance feature ( similar to Photoshop ) for the screen snap. Best Regards, Dirk
