Add notes to screenshot in SnagIt?

I'd like to be able to add notes to my screenshots. i.e. Click the screenshot, have a text area I can type or paste some notes about it in, per screenshot. Bonus if there's some sort of icon overlay or similar that indicates a note has been attached to any screenshot with a note.

Hi GeekDrop.com,
Thanks for you feedback. We always love hear new ideas from our users.

Are you looking for some kind of tagging feature? If so, SnagIt does have that ability, but perhaps lacks some functionality you are looking for?

Would you explain what kind of info you would like to put in those notes?

Also, it would be super-helpful for us to understand how this idea fits into the rest of the things you are doing, so would you explain, at a relatively high level, the workflow you are using?

Thanks again,
Jack

As a workaround I use OneNote (which is a SEND option, though not precise to the exact notebook folder) where I paste the image and with free form text make notes. I would also like to add that I would like the URL link from the page source to be included with the image capture. This ability is already on the feature request list.

Hi Jack, this has nothing to do with Keyword Tagging, where you attach keyword tags like "Work", "ToDo", "ProjectXY" etc. to a screenshot, which is like adding a category. If you would use key word tagging for text notes, then each text note would appear in the list of keyword tags, which is not desirable. Keyword tags are for reusing, thus they are collected in a list where you can click a keyword tag to attach it to the selected screenshot.

Instead, a text note attached to a screenshot would for example describe the content or the purpose of the selected screenshot in a more detailed way, which often is important when using this screenshot after some time.

Please add the text note feature, it is indispensable!!

@Tami Bethune -- SEND TO OneNote is functional only if you use Office2010.

The other option is using the SNAGIT NOTES, found under the TOOLS menu
