Add text to images

Up until very recently I was able to add text/copy to the captured images.  The icon for this was the letter A without the bubble.  For some reason when I did my last update it seems that this function has dropped off the "tools" menu section and I can't seem to locate it when I try to "custom" add features.  Anyhow, this is a very important feature for me so please tell me where I can find it and add it back to to the "tools" section.

Thanks,
AC

I think you can just select the letter A WITH the bubble, and then you pick whatever style you want.

Greg is correct. You can add Text using the Callout tool. Just select the Callout tool as Greg says above and chose any of the text only styles. See an image of the the tool and styles here: http://screencast.com/t/aoM7t8nSduzd

You can also check here for additional features you might be searching for.

The "A" text tool is gone.  How do I get it back?

BTW - People seem to give very glib, irrelevant responses on this board and it's not appreciated. You are definitely NOT GOOD at instructional design.

What does your tab look like under "Tools" - is it not like the image I'm posting here?

How dumb to remove the text box icon.. Snag-it isn't going to snag any business trying to be the market leader in user-hateful GUI.

Just click on the "A" bubble text tool, and then choose the appropriate style (usually along the right hand side are styles that do not have any border around them).

Got it!!   Took a bit of finagling...  #1  Click on the "A" bubble.  #2 On your canvas, use your mouse to create the area you wish to place your text.  #3   Click on the upper center of the area, and a box should appear with your choices, just as previous versions of SnagIt.  (My personal fonts were all available).  #4  Chose the blank square for no outline, your font, size, and color.   Type in your text.     Don't forget to flatten all when you ready!
