Adding an Mp3 problem

I've recorded some game footage and want to add some commentary, so I recorded in Audacity and saved as an Mp3. When I imported it into my Camtasia 8 (8.6) the Mp3 plays ok.

Windows 10
Camtasia 8.6

I sync it to the story line and it seems fine. When I watch it through it seems almost like the Mp3 has stretched and everything is out of sync , if I cut and trim video to make it into smaller parts that I can then add individually it retains the part I cut and deleted

What should have been a pleasant 1/2 hours work has now taken an entire day and I'm still no closer to working out what's going on.

Any ideas ?

Cheers in advance

Mp3's create problems for Camtasia.
Save it as a .wav out of Audacity and the problem should go away.Use these settings.

I have a same truncated problem, it only happens with windows 10 + Camtasia 8.6. Not on Windows 7.
I would like to use mp3 for the disk space. The wav conversion is possible, but it is a workaround. I would like to know the real solution with mp3.
I check the free trial version of camtasia 9 + windows 10. It works fine. I hope 8.6 has a fix.
