Adding buffer time

I made an entire video of 20 minutes and now I realised I should be adding something more between 2-3 minutes. How do I move allll the elements together which are after 3 minutes without affecting their duraction at all? Is there any way to add buffer time?

If you want to split all elements at one point and move them down the timeline.

You can place the playhead at that point and hold "Shift" Drag the media to the right.

You can move the media as far down the timeline as you wish. Insert your buffer and edit it with room to spare. Then, place playhead back over the end of the media.Hold "Shift" and drag it back.

I'd forgotten about that one as well. It drags content on other tracks along with it, even if they aren't right alongside the playhead (as you would hope it would).

My usual approach to getting rid of the surplus space is to select it and do [Ctrl]+[Delete], but I'll keep this one in mind.

The option I like (works in Camtasia v8.6 at least) is to use the green and red markers to set an area (e.g. 3 minutes) and then right-click, selecting "insert time."

Yeah, that's a good way too. The only thing I don't like about it? Is you want to know exactly how much time you want to insert first. For this to be the only step involved.
So it's better in some situations than others.

To be honest,I couldn't remember how to insert time. I wanted to add it to my post this morning by I couldn't remember how its done. I don't use that feature myself. "Obviously"LOL
