Hi Guys,

I should add url links to my videos created with camtasia but I have no idea how to do that. I searched it on google but google is full of junk info about this. I'll be pleased to get your help.

Sincerely.

Hi,

I'm assuming you are using Camtasia Studio, and I've updated the post as such. Please let me know if I'm mistaken. (Camtasia for Mac does not currently support Flash hotspots.)

If you're trying to include an interactive link in your video, try checking the help for "hotspot". Essentially, what you will do is enable a callout with the URL functionality under the callout "advanced" options.

There are some conditions and pitfalls. Here's a thread with a lot of nitty-gritty details: http://feedback.techsmith.com/techsmi...

Best wishes, and I know this hotspot/URL functionality can be confusing! You're certainly not alone there. There are a lot of "if's" and "maybe's" depending on how you are producing and then hosting the video.

I'm not sure if you're using Screencat.com to host your video, but one really nice thing about Screencast.com is that we host the video in a Flash controller by default, but fall back to an HTML 5 controller if the viewer is on an iPad, browser without Flash, etc. It just works "out of the box".

Let me know if you have any more questions or get stuck. We'll be here!

I understand using screencast.com so the URL links work, but I want to be able to have links on my videos on youtube for purposes of drawing traffic to my website.  How do people do this on Youtube?  For example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXb_dTFKl7M

Do they use something other than camtasia?  I'm currently using Camtasia 8 and would like to use it to create links on videos for youtube.  Please advise.  Thanks!

You can manually add links to YouTube videos.  https://www.youtube.com/t/annotations_about.  Currently this can only be done manually.  YouTube does not provide an API that would allow Camtasia to add links to your video for you.

as far as I know, in 2014 Youtube has stopped support to link to websites. Only Google+ pages, youtube video's or charity websites are allowed to link to...
