This idea come up when I'm recording video from Skype, Snagit records the audio at a fixed system volume level, even though I may have my headset cranked all the way up to hear what the people are saying.

This generates a video with inaudible audio that can't be corrected.

There must be a way to set Snagit up so that the audio that you actually hear is recorded -- not the system audio -- and goes into the capture AND you could monitor and adjust this level on a meter or through your headphones, just as if you were recording on a camera or digital deck.

The audio option are there in the recorder bar.

You have two audio buttons.

One is system audio and the other you can select the input.

You turn then on or off by clicking them

On the audio device input button, click the down arrow to select your preferred device  ie; mic or speakers

The only volume meter shows on the mic-speaker button.

Really not of much help other than knowing your getting audio but its there.
