adjust timeline for easy editing

I had a long tutorial that I cut down through editing.  The timeline did not decrease in size though, so I made editing a bit tough to do.  How do you have rid of the all the extra timeline space, so just the cut-down media shows on the timeline?

Hi there

There is a small control that adjusts how much of the timeline you see from left to right. Try double-clicking the control dot.

Cheers... Rick :)

to add to Rick's advice ...

there are 3 key timeline zoom shortcuts to remember

ctl-shift-7 [same as double clicking the control dot as explained above]

ctl-shift-9 zooms in timeline the maximum amount possible [same as clicking the zoom control line on its far right side]

ctl-shift-8 zooms a current timeline selection to fill the entire timeline view space

I like to use this icon:

Once you can see all the media on the timeline, you may see you have blank spaces with no media where you have cut sections out. If this is the case, you'll need to remove these blank sections. You should be able to do this by using Ripple Delete.
Hope this helps,
