Adjusting callout colors in Camtasia 9

In Camtasia 9, I find it really hard to manually type in the red/green/blue color numbers when I want a precise color for just PART of a callout that I have dragged my mouse over to highlight. (e.g. suppose you want just the first letter in a different color).  As I try to type into the B box, the numbers instead are taken as keystrokes replacing the text of the callout.  I can't seem to find the right way to put my cursor in the little RGB boxes; if I move it to the end of a number and backspace, that doesn't work; if I highlight a number and delete it, that doesn't work; e.g. if I want pure blue, R=0, G=0, B=255, I can't seem to be able to specify it. What is the trick to this?
(I understand the trick mentioned in another post of creating a pure blue item in the library and color picking it, but I'm saying there ought to be a way to type the numbers into these boxes without resorting to this workaround).

Double left click the numbers in one of the color box's.
That will highlight the number.Type in the correct number.

Do the same for each color value. When you get to the last number click outside of the color box and that will lock in the last number typed.

I'm NOT talking about the FILL color of the callout; I'm talking about the TEXT color of the font.  Your screenshots show you adjusting the FILL color. I can't get it to work the way you say. What happens for me is if I go to one of these boxes, double-left click to highlight it, then type a numeral, sometimes the first numeral stays in that box, but if I then type a second numeral (even quickly after the first), the second numeral ends up replacing the text I had highlighted in the callout rather than appearing in this color box. e.g. type "25" into B box, I get "2" in that box, and the callout gets the "5" as text. I have tried this over and over to no avail.  And sometimes no numeral appears in the box at all, it even the first numeral I type goes into the callout text (even though I double-left clicked on the number and it is highlighted.)

Yeah, I see what you mean, I misread your question. Sorry about that {:>(
I tested that myself and got the same results. You should run this by tech support and that way it can be reported as a bug.

Hey Charles,

I've reported this as a bug. TechSmith tested and reproduced the problem. So, this will get addressed at some point in the future.

In the meantime, can you type the value into the callout (or notepad or ...) select and cut the value and then paste into the value box?  Or does that fail also?

Hello Camtasia,
Let's get that bugfix! I work with this feature for a lot of my clients... I'm forced to downgrade to 8 now!
Loosing my mind over this...
