Snagit version 2018.0.2

But, if I select another picture , and then reselect original picture, "Coppy All" is working fine.

There is something weird about the way Cut Out works, period.

Once you use it it steals the limelight.  You have to select another tool before it will let go.

As you have found, this applies to Copy All too.

Go figure

Pressing the "Alt" key will release any tool and turn the cursor back into a cursor.

If you are using the cut out tool, you need to have the cut out tool completely off of the image first. Or it leaves a line across the image. The one that lets you know where your positioning it as if you are about to apply it. I would call that a bug.

But "Alt" to escape any tool is the main point.I waited years for that and it's been available ever since 2018 beta.
I don't think it's a well know feature.

I can confirm the bug. ALT doesn't seem to do anything here. Picking another tool is the apparent work around
But YES a bug.  Good catch

Maybe selecting "Alt" doesn't work in the latest SnagIt 2018 update?

It works every time in the previous version. As a matter of fact, I've played around with it some more. The line I was referring to disappears as soon as you select another tool. Or save the image.
SO the line is a temporary distraction at it's worst the way I read it.

Alt does nothing here. I tried changing tools to see if it was just  a cut out issue but it is not that

Alt does nothing for me either.

Running version 18.0.2 so maybe changed in the latest update.

I would think that the escape key would be used to exit out but...?

:)

Yeah, I got sidetracked because I was responding to Paul's comment.

"Alt" gets you out of a tool selection.

I wasn't thinking about radjenovicv "Copy All" issue. It doesn't work in Version 2018.0.1 either.
My bad. Sorry about that.
