Align Objects

The reason I chose to purchase Camtasia Studio 2019, is to make videos for YouTube and other platforms. I was excited that I can do a lot of the same things that I could do in Adobe After Effects, however, I am amazed that I can't select two objects and align them with a button.

I can select one and move it around until the snap lines show, however, with many objects, it becomes burdensome. Please add some simple align buttons when you have multiple objects selected.

I appreciate that you took the time to make a video, as I'm sure it might help others. Your example works only if the objects are 1) either the same size or 2) you are aligning the objects center/middle.

correct; I've not had much need to align stuff, but when I did, the objects tended to be identical in size [like buttons in a menu]

but thanks for the clarification

I might add to this that, in addition to an 'align' feature, a 'distribute' feature would also be welcome. Without a grid, spacing out several objects evenly requires me to use a temporary object or shape as a measuring tool while laying them out. It'd be great to select several objects and command them to distribute themselves evenly between the left and right or top and bottom most items in the set like I do in other applications.

This is definitely something that's missing. It's on our radar and fairly high up the list. I can't promise dates, but just know you are heard and have friends on the inside.

So when is this feature coming if it is fairly high on the radar? We just got Version 2020.

I like the alignment markers in previous versions of camtasia and not sure why they are not available in Camtasia 9. Sometimes you just want to drag things without having to set the position using the properties. I have an older version at home that makes this so simple to align objects to the middle or sides of the video. Not sure why this was taken away in 9 (which I use at work). Any plans to add this back?

Can you expound on what you mean by "alignment markers"? I opened version 9 and I see the yellow alignment lines when I drag things on the canvas. So I'm not sure what you are referring to.

This is something, I am really surprised is not in here yet. The ability to align objects and distribute them both vertically and horizontally would be really helpful. In my tutorials, I always summarize what we learned and am very frustrated trying to add bullet points and having to manually align them and have them evenly spaced.  This would immediately make this product more usable.  Your text and shape handling is one of the weakest links.  Please add this.
