Align Snagit objects

I do not seem to have the ability to align objects in Snagit.

I use Snagit mainly for training manuals and my pictures often look a little unprofessional as I cannot align objects such as boxes and sequence numbers.

In this example today I have a requirement to place sequence numbers across a horizontal line.  I would like the ability to align these so that once I place the first number sequence, when I go to place the second the system notifies me when they are aligned and so on.  At the end, I will then have all numbers aligned perfectly in a horizontal line rather than what I have below.

In the second example with boxes, the same thing.  In that instance I want to have the boxes all in line.  Obviously I've rushed this and could align better!  Where the arrow is on the right however I tried to copy/paste so that the boxes would be aligned vertically the same and use the arrow key to shift it across.  However, even doing that caused the pasted box to be out of line vertically and not of any help.  When I then press the arrow key up to try to align fractionally it goes above too far.  The only workaround seems to be to copy/paste then move one box over the other before using the arrow keys to move it right across the page again which is pretty painful.

Below is how Lucidchart.com achieves this - aligning top, centre and bottom (Real screenshot)

So drawing on that well developed solution, my proposal for Snagit would look similar as below.  Obviously the requirement would apply across a vertical line just the same.

If there's a working solution already I'd love to know about it - but couldn't find in community.

Hi brendan,

First, press the <SHIFT> key down and hold while you click on all the items you need to align to select them. Then right-click the selection and choose Arrange > Align > then the option you need.

Or, as Paul mentioned, once you make your selections, you can use the menu at the top of the program to get to the same options.

Then what might I be doing wrong? I put out random steps like yours above. Then SHIFT click them so the are all selected and they ARRANGE / ALIGN and any of the choices and they pile up

NM I just tried it again and the tops aligned after not doing anything different.
I probably need a nap

More soda, less whisky mate.

This is a function which needs presenting better.  All the correct functionality is there, just not where you'd expect it to be.  What it needs is an con on the toolbar something like this:

Which when clicked displays the bottom level of that deep menu:
