Hello, I must be missing something really basic. All the editor controls are grayed out for me.

Is your license up to date? If so, then Is the image a Snag our from a clipboard? If it is from a clipboard, is it an extension that Snagit can read?

I'm wondering if this is an animated GIF. And if it is, I don't believe those options are available because SnagIt doesn't know how to deal with editing an animated GIF. There are multiple frames involved.

Cheers... Rick :)

Could be. Was this just a still screen image capture, or was the image animated like a GIF?

Cheers!

I based my own assessment on the fact that GIF is what is being presented in the Title Bar of the supplied screen capture. ;)

Not using SnagIt alone.

As I see it, you have a couple of options.

1. Obtain Camtasia. Then make edits to the video using Camtasia.

Or

2. Insert the SnagIt video into PowerPoint (assuming you have PPT). Then add the annotations there and use PPT animation functionality to add things in. Then display the PPT and record it again using SnagIt.

In my view, the best way is with Camtasia.

Cheers... Rick :)

Rick does Camtasia have an "export to GIF" function too?

And in case you are wondering why it's disabled (or greyed out) in my screen capture, it's because my Camtasia presently only has audio on the timeline of the current project. ;)

Cheers... Rick :)
