I know I can publish it to another video format, then import to a new project and use it in the PIP track - but why can't I just toss it in the PIP track in the first place? It just isn't very user-friendly :(

camrec format is a container for video files, etc.; to use directly, simply first extract the camrec's video file [usually an AVI] by right clicking on camrec in clip bin [on in Explorer [some versions of Windows]; then use that avi on the PIP track; no need to do separate production

Hi Kimberli,

In the latest release of Camtasia Studio (version 8.0.0) you can actually add any media (Video, Audio, Images, Callouts, etc.) to any track. Not only that but you can resize it and reshape it however you want in the preview window. This new workflow allows you to make any media into a “PIP” video. If you choose to upgrade we hope you’ll find this new functionality useful!
