This the effect i am after doing (Any version of Camtasia?) If not camtasia what is the best cheapest way of doing this effect.

I have a dancer on my screen which is totally transparent. I can set my desktop background color to solid green like a green screen. Record the dancer with the green background, as it plays on top of everything. Stop the video after 30 seconds.

Import the video then use the keying to get rid of the green background. I don't want to replace the background with any other background color/picture.

I just want to somehow export that video once i removed the green screen. so, when i put it as position: absolute; on my website it will walk on and dance. Just like them cool effects businesses use for a walk on spoke's person in flash.

I've watched tons of tutorials on this, but everyone is using a mac and apple products. There cannot be only myself who wants to be-able to create this effect surely.

Or even export a normal standard video with transparency??? To use on their website?

The only way I've managed to do this is record a section of the website and have the dancer in front, then basically put the video over the top using z-index: with CSS3

It works, and works well... until the user changes the mandatory screen size. Then the whole page layout moves behind the absolute positioning.

Some version of camtasia must be-able to remove a background completely then output the format as an alpha channel? Anyone got any idea's on this please?

Camtasia for Windows cannot export videos with an alpha channel.

I don't know if the Mac version can.
As far as I know. They still use QuickTime and the MOV codec. You would need a MAC and have to check with them on that.
