I am thinking of buying Camtasia, but to be convinced my problem is recording `Football Manager 17` gameplay , resulting in `jumpiness`, for example see 20 mins plus on this video :
Can you please advise if I am doing something wrong / settings please ?, thanking you in advance.

Are you referring to the mouse being jumpy at the beginning?
That looks to be an issue with not enough RAM and CPU.
However, it clears up and looks to run flawless.
What are your system specs?

Also, get a pop filter for your mic.
You are killing the speakers.

It looks like you copied that from the manufactures website :)

You have what you need to do the job.
I do not see a reason as to why it is doing this.

#1: Does it do this on all videos?
#2: Watch your Task Manager, and see if you are spiking your CPU
(Right click on the Task bar, and choose [Task Manager])
#3: Do you have other programs running while you are recording?
#4: Do you notice this while you are recording, is there a lag, or does the recording process go smoothly?

Wayne, Yes how did you guess?.
In answer,
1. Yes , as the cursor flickers, the game seems to `pulse`.
2. I do not know how to check the Task Manager when the game is played, but with just Camtasia it ranges from 1% to 10%, but when FM17 is on Camtasia as a video goes up to 35%, then with the 3d match engine generally 45%, although it did go as high as 60% at the start & end.
Memory is always at 27%.
3. No , just FM17 & Camtasia to record, but with 91 background processes which do not account for much.
4. As I say there is a slight lag / pulse when recording.
Thanking you

Did not know what the program was.
Now, I know that it is a game.

I have never used Camtasia to record Gameplay before, I always used another program.
I use this program when I do my game plays.

I then bring the HUGE video files into Camtasia and edit them.
The ACTION program is designed for heavy loaded games.
Most or your top YouTube Gamers are using ACTION for recording, and then using either Camtasia, Sony Vegas, or other editors, in POST.

They have a 30-day-trial.
Give it a shot, and see if it does good for you.

The one that I used, it a bit confusing to setup to record in split.
Split meaning, that it will put YOUR Voice Over, on its own track.
And the Video and Audio from the game is on its own track.

Give it a shot, and let us know.
